I'm not sure what I said that was incorrect. He asked if the only way to get a niftar to Israel is via private, and that's incorrect. Only COVID can't go commercial, anyone else can. And United isn't taking any bodies at all at the moment. COVID or not
IINM, all niftarim are being treated as Covid out of caution.

Isn't LY still flying cargo?
They are still flying cargo to LGG. I've heard of dozens of niftarim from France and Belgium being able to be transported on it, include Covid until a few days ago. Might have changed since

BA resuming TLV service as of May 1, UA resuming 2nd EWR flight 5/20. AC resuming TLV service in June.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Probably fake news. There’s no way AC is resuming Montreal flights in June

Wizz air resuming TLV-LTN May 3rd, and TLV-VIE on May 16th

https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-wizz-air-to-resume-tel-aviv-london-flights-1001326512
Confused, article says self isolate. Is it self isolate or isolation hotels?

At present non-Israelis are not allowed into Israel and Israelis returning from abroad must self-isolate for 14 days.

Also good to United is starting TLV- SFO route again.

According to the ministry of health, the hotel isolation requirements still apply. I read somewhere these have been extended until May 6th, so it still unclear what happens after that.

From the Ministry's website:
International travelers that are allowed entry to Israel will be arranged to be transferred by the Home Front Command from Ben Gurion Airport to designated hotel to complete the full isolation duration.

It is possible to submit a humanitarian application for exceptional cases (such as severely disabled, patients with oncological conditions, surrogate parents, people with psychiatric conditions etc.) to complete isolation at home.

Applications must be submitted prior to departure via a designated online form (Hebrew). If the application is approved, travelers will be sent home after filling out the online home isolation report and signing a statement.

I’m confused, how can they possibly succeed with these reopened flights without non-citizens entering?

as of now, the quarantine requirement ends May 6
if that's extended, then flights likely won't resume
