Nah it's just a low level misinformed bureaucrat. There is no way in the current environment they'd open Germany and not USA.

USA will probably be one of the last to be opened to restricted countries.

I am not aware of any country that has the US on a blacklist at the moment. Countries either ban the entire world, minor regional white lists, or white lists that include the US. Turkey has 30 countries on the blacklist but US is white.

We get something for $500b/yr defense budget.

I agree. All I was saying is that the US will not be included on any white list. They’ll open to Americans when they do to the rest of the world.

Rare UAE to Israel Flight Will Carry Virus Aid for Palestinians

(Bloomberg) --A rare flight from the United Arab Emirates is expected arrive in Israel on Tuesday evening, and according to Israeli reports, it will be carrying medical equipment to help Palestinians fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi is scheduled to arrive a little before 10 p.m. at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, Airports Authority spokesman Ofer Lefler said. He added that it will be carrying cargo, rather than passengers, but did not provide any further details.

The flight will carry more than 10 tons of medical equipment donated by Abu Dhabi, Army Radio Middle East editor Jacky Hugi said on Twitter, without saying where he got the information. The cargo will be handed over to the United Nations, which will distribute it in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

A total of 388 coronavirus cases have been reported in the West Bank and Gaza. Two people have died in the West Bank.

This is the first time Etihad airlines will openly land in Israel, he said. A report on the website of the Israel Hayom newspaper said the shipment will arrive on an Airbus 330 plane.

While Israel and the UAE don’t have diplomatic relations, ties between them have warmed in recent years, largely over a shared distrust of Iran. Still, there are no publicly known flights between the

So it was OK to fly over Iraqi airspace, but not Saudi, Syrian or Lebanese. Map seems to be missing some tracking info. My guess is that they flew via Iraq to Turkish airspace and continued from there along the route shown.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I'm surprised about Iraq. But Syria would be very surprising if they flew over.... In any case, despite it being unmarked, it caused outrage from Iran....

Not the best reaction for a flight that's "testing the waters". But maybe UAE doesn't really care about Iran....

The return seems be be clearly in Turkish before the tracking gap

Very similar to the outbound, which leads one to assume that the route was strictly over Iraqi and Turkish airspace.

Bibi to Greek PM today, about creating a white list of countries:

"There’s a vast interest to visit Greece. We would want to resume flights and tourism connections to countries that are in a similar situation as ours, the most obvious one is Greece and we are working on it now. This is the first good news that I can give you, I hope we can bring it to completion quickly"
