Hasn't it been discussed that an a380 to TLV is highly unlikely? Can TLV airport even handle an a380 (runway length, multiple boarding sleeves)?

(sorry for bouncing an old post - just read now)
I don't think tlv as the capacity to handle the 380 - just from a boarding sleeves perspective.

Still, can't compare 777/787 to 320/737 but TBH I'm not sure ppl care about the hard product that much on a 3h flight.

So even if LY installs ithe sky shield on the 787, it's very possible they will choose the 737 depending on the level of demand

I think you are right

From the E Wing launch, press release:

Innovations in E wing include telescopic glass entryways and bridges to aircraft, including double bridges for wide-bodies aircraft, for more convenient and faster boarding and disembarking from both the front and the back of the plane.

Runway 08/26 can handle the A380 since the upgrade completed in 2014

Double bridges for wide bodies aircraft doesn't mean for 2 story aircraft. The A380 has 2 decks.

Yeah. They could use them in a similar way than in the picture below, if I'm not mistaken?

Is TLV open for tax refunds?
Someone told me you just fill out a letter and they contact you to send refund?

I doubt whether there's even the slightest chance of getting anything back to AMEX. The best you can hope for is Alitalia giving you back MilleMiglia points, just make sure to use those before they expire.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

File a DOT complaint

How would a DOT complaint have anything to do with AMEX? If one were to transfer AMEX points to any program, and then that program doesn't have desired flights, or by the time the transfer came through availability of the desired flight went away, would the DOT have any say over this?

Seems like Qatar is next
Seems like a stretch considering they can't even make peace with the KSA, no?

I'm very, very skeptical about that one. Qatar is in the Iran-Syria-Lebanon-Gaza axis or at least a strong sympathizer.

In the cold war for Muslim domination between Iran and KSA they have picked the side of Iran and are very unlikely to normalize relations with Israel anytime soon. Without normalizing relationships and with Israelis not even allowed into the country, it makes zero sense to operate flights.

If Qatar does normalize relations with Israel, it would be part of big shake-up in the Arab world and part of Qatar's return to the KSA group.

Unless Qatar wants to shake up things in a big way. This would be the way to do it. But, very unlikely.
