Flight options.

There is 2 Airports serving Iguassu (Iguazu, Iguaçu) Falls, IGU on the Brazilian side and IGR on the Argentinian side.
See here for a map of airports connecting to IGU and IGR  forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=3052.msg1363094#msg1363094

When searching for award availability search first to connecting  airports as for example, from NYC VIA Brazil search

LAN thru Lima Peru (cheapest option usually) Oneworld (BA Shows Lan)
JFK-GIG  on Tam (BA.com) and/or AA (AA.com)
JFK- GRU AA, Delta
EWR-GRU UA
COPA airlines flies thru Panama City and GRU (usually 2 stops)

Argentina options

Aerolineas Argentina JFK-EZE
LAN Argentina

Hotels
Belmont in the Brazilian side of the park
Sheraton Iguazu in the Argentina side of the park. (SPG)
Park Hyatt Iguacu Falls coming soon!

Major Activities

The Argentinian side is more up-close and personal.
You will need to walk both the upper and lower trail on the Argentina side. The upper will take about an hour, the lower about 2. Make sure to do the boat ride on the lower trail for the most awesome views. You will get soaked so take along a ziplock for your camera. You can also take the train to Devils point

The Brazillian side is more of a panorama view.
On the Brazil side at the falls there is less walking as you are not next to the falls like on the Argentina side but rather across the river from them. You will take a tram to the start of the trail on the Brazil side and just walk along side the falls, starting from the pink hotel till the end. When you get to the end is when you will be totally blown away. Walk out on the boardwalk and you will get the most amazing view of the falls.

Bird park well worth about an hour

Helicopter tour on the Brazillian side (Argentina band it as its not Eco friendly)

There is a  huge dam you can tour that powers all of Paraguay and huge portions of Brazil and Argentina

Airport Transfer Options

Cabs are available at fairly cheap from both airports to the park and hotels (cross border too)

BsAs, but I'm sure you can find them somewhere in IGR also. You're not going to be anywhere else in Argentina before IGR?
i'm not actually going to IGR(airport) just to the park from Foz
i'm hoping the taxi can help, but i was wondering if someone else would have an idea

Are you not going anywhere else in Argentina after, or are you only needing enough ARS just to pay the park entrance fee? If so it's not worth worrying about it for just one purchase.

And potentially a cab back to IGU. The bigger question I have is: You're paying $160 reciprocity fee just to go to the Argentinian side of the falls and then head back to Brazil, or do you also have citizenship elsewhere?

Not doing the boat ride or are you doing that in Brazilian?

Airport must have ATM somewhere. The NP takes cc for sure. +10000. If you have no time spend it in Argentina and skip Brazil.
one of us does the other doesn;t so, yes $160 just to spend a half a day in Argentina......  on your recommendation
The cab back i heard can usually  be paid in dollars, correct me if i'm wrong

Yes, Argentina is worth it, but it's quite expensive to pay that much for such a short visit. At least if you were to spend time in BsAs or elsewhere in the country it'll justify the high cost. Although you do have 10 years to go back and get your money's worth...

That, but the cabs will want ARS.

ok, i'm back and can answer a couple of my own questions l'toeles harabim
1- $160 for the visa to see the other side (which ever that may be) even for a day trip is a no brainer. The $200+ that i spent to see the argentina side was money well , (we did stop at the casino on the way out and made back the money anyway... minor details)
1b- you cant go and not do BOTH sides to quote dan "that would be insane"
2- The ATM in IGU is in the domestic arrivals. if you come from Peru, like we did you will have to towards the money changers to the right and on the right side of the stairs go into the domestic arrivals to use it.
3- there is a money changer before the Argentina border called Frontier Turismo and Cambio that will give a decent rate for ARG Peso
not the best but good (we got almost 14 which is a blue rate as the official rate was 10) there is also a shop there that has curios and other touristy stuff for decent prices its on Av. Mercosul, 400 - Jardim Veraneio which is the road out of Brazil, on the left side of the street
3b- the entrance to the ARG park is 260 peso each , you will also need 12 peso entrance for the taxi so if you are just changing enough to get in you'll need that extra 12, it can only be paid in cash.
Drinks in the park were 35 peso (but can be paid in $ and R$)
4- taxi from IGU to the belmond was R$20 (on the meter it was R$16)
5- Taxi from Belmond to the park in ARG and back with waiting for 5 hours was R$250 and R$30 to add on the casino and money changer (we probably could have bargained that lower)

Thanks for posting all the data points. Seems like you had a nice time. Taxis to Argentina and back seem pretty reasonable at the current exchange rate, though I found the Argentine taxi to be cheaper going to Brazil.

Maybe, but it requires signing in and I can't do that now. Why not just post the video on Youtube and put then embed the video? Much easier.
