book all the other nights you need anyways then call spg/hotel and I would imagine you can get it done. might take a couple hucas
Thank you. I'm gonna be using someone elses platinum account (hopefully), so HUCA x 10 isn't a viable option. But a good idea.

Interesting.

Anyone here have experience when using points?
FTR, I just tried getting pick up set up for someone else (points res, gold member) and the front desk said 6 miles, then he said they don't do pick up.

Thank you for the idea. They'll let me downgrade without a cancelation fee?

Not sure what you mean by downgrade...

What I'm saying is call SPG, and ask if you can book a deluxe room, for instance at St Regis in Bal Harbour, Deluxe room was 1500 more per night, and available for 5 nights, which gets you fifth night free
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

If I apply 2 SNAs to a 2 night res, does the system start looking for suite availability 5 days before check in or 4 days?
I have the same question.

Anyone know?

IME 5 days bf the first day of the reservation not the last.

If booking a spg hotel w/ UR points and the rate says 'taxes included' does that mean i dont have to pay the $20-$30 resort fee?

You can book regular hotels / flights / cars through the UR portal and get 1.2 cpp value.

Not if your Rabbi doesn't hold of that.

Don't have a Rabbi.

Was referring to that, but not in a bad way.

The subject of selling miles, as everyone mentions and is well aware, is "grey area" at best...

Kudos to anyone (Rabbi or otherwise) that stays away from this.

Booked w/ SPG pts... Just was worried bc was transferring pts from another account and wouldn't b transferred in time to have enough in my account to book for the desired dates. Spg held the reservation for me pending the transfer

I have a reservation within 5 days from now with an SNA applied and it hasn't cleared. There are plenty of suites available on Spg.com for purchase. Any advice?

(I'm still unclear If SNAs are supposed to have capacity controls or not. I was under the impression there are none.)
