I need to book 15 rooms for 2 nights at a hotel for a weekend. I found several spg hotels for ~$120 a night but only 3k starpoints. Is there any reason not to book with points? I've heard of other hotels mistreating people for booking large parties with points, and will most likely need the hotels cooperation, and possibly a favor or 2, to make the shabbos happen.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

You could make a lot of points if you book with cash (that they'll pay you for, no?) and possibly status. I think it's called the SPG pro program or something. Look it up, not sure of details.

$3,600. Two nights. Are you familiar with the program? Can you elaborate?

Well it's $1800 after you consider the value of the starpoints at 2 cpp
I'm not familiar with the program. Did some googling and I don't see any maalos. They do have something where you get some kind of commission on what you book but I couldn't figure it out.

If they pay him the full cash price it can't hurt to make points commission, correct?

Like 1 point per $3. I'll pass if I'm understanding the program correctly.

each hotel may be different. They may be fine and happy with these bookings. You can call the front desk and the manager and find out if they're fine with it. Points are the way to go -- They may be happy to accommodate you.

Looking for about 20,000 starwood points for a stay next week, I have UR points. Is there a way to transfer efficiently or am I better off purchasing the SPG points on their website?

Just booked an SPG 50 rate for the first time. Has anyone done it recently? I heard conflicting reports on whether you earn points on the cash part. Any recent data points would be appreciated,

If you have gold status through the Amex Platinum, what happens if you close the card?

You will lose it as soon as your status expires
