If I book a points stay for a standard room, and I have an SPG Amex Business card, will I get free club lounge access?  Or is the club access only on paid stays?  Specifically for Tel Aviv Sheraton.  Thanks.

the recent change is supposed to include all guests with an SPG biz card to provide club access, instead of the past Gold/Plat status club ammenity. (They now limit the age at 16 and older in some Sheraton locations.) I'd call them in Tel Aviv and confirm their policy.

Anyone here know if that includes a room on the club floor, or a standard room with access to the club?

the latter but again as CS1 said check with the sheraton as they are notoriously stingy with handing out free benefits

Share SPG Platinum Status By Booking Through Someone Else
« Reply #770 on: June 20, 2017, 05:03:36 PM »
Someone with platinum status suggested that my friend book a room (which my friend is paying for) through the platinum Starwood account and then have them my friend's name to the reservation so that he would get the benefit of the platinum status at check-in.  The SPG member would not be travelling with my friend but would add his name to the reservation.  Has anyone ever done this? Does it work? Thanks.

it works but I would stay away from it at international hotels where they request passports as sometimes they will not pass over the benefits. But in the US you should be fine

I know from personal experience that the Sheraton in tlv is very strict on giving benefits if the platinum member doesn't actually check in

That is why I said to be wary at International hotels. I had the same issue with the St Regis in BKK and other properties I do not really remember.

If I cancel a free night reservation how long does it take for the points to post back?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.
