Trying to finalize some details for upcoming trip, arriving in AEP right before 11am Friday morning. Need to pick up some food for shabbos and hopefully familiarize ourselves with the area a little but will hopefully still have a few hours Friday afternoon- anything suggestions for something to do then? Thinking about just relaxing in the hotel but if something specific made sense maybe we'd do it. Well have all day Sunday there too.
Maybe just walk to the Recoleta cemetery on Friday? It's close to the PH and it doesn't take all day. Sunday you can do more adventurous exploring.

Another option would be to go to the Casa Rosa or La Boca, but I did both of those on a biking tour.

Thnx. Was thinking if doing a biking tour Sunday, and checking the markets/fairs people have written about here. Does something else make more sense for Sunday?

The biking tour of the south was amazing. Highly recommended, especially on a less trafficy Sunday. Between that and the fairs you should have most of the day covered. You also might want to go back to some places on the tour of they stop for a shorter amount of time than you want.

Are you going with Urban Biking?

Urbanbiking.com, South tour (North tour could be good too), book online and pay in cash (pesos) after the tour.
I think it was about 330 pesos last November.

Thanks. For shabbos eating jabad recoleta fri night and wanted to walk to once for shachris to just see the community or a different shul at least. Is there a main shul we should go to - preferably Ashkenas (and with a kiddush ideally)?

I forgot what it's called, but it's on Tucumán between Ave Pueyrredón and Boulogne Sur Mer. They have 5 minyanim, one or two of which are Ashkenaz (upstairs). They had a kiddush afterwards with dulce de leche, cheese, fish, cakes, alfajores (from Malena) and some other savory things as well. It was an amazing kiddush. You can't miss the shul. It's huge, has a gate with a security guard and posts of the street. It was amazing!

ETA: Lookes like this:

Actually looks like it might be sucath David.
Urban biking online says $55/person now but hopefully in cash it'll come out to less.

They don't advertise their prices in Pesos, but you can email them and they will confirm the price in pesos.

No. It's for people traveling on a US, Canadian or Australian passport. If you have any other passport/nationality you won't have to pay.

When I booked on AA they had a link (if you make a hold with mileage the link will show up. The site doesn't look very legit but it worked).

Make sure to print out the paper. They asked me for it, both by check in and by immigration.

And keep that paper for the next ten years. They won't make a visa mark in your passport. Just a stamp.
