Is it realistic to land in EZE 3 hours before Shabbat, and get to the PH BsAs in time? As of now the only other option for my timing is an overnight connection in GRU (which might not be the worst thing), and getting into EZE Friday morning. Hoping for a more direct flight at some point, but I'm just wondering if I should switch to the overnight connection for the time being.

Landing so close to Shabbos is never advisable. What happens if there's a ground or air delay while you're on the plane? I always try to land a minimum of 5 hours before shabbos on long flights, closer to shabbos if both cities have great weather, rare delays, a hub in the departure city, etc.

Also 3 hours wouldn't leave you enough time to get food, as Sucath David and any other takeout place would be closed by the time you'd get there. EZE is a good 45 minutes from Once (Sucath David) and Once is 20-30 minutes from the PH BsAs.

That's what I thought- I'll go back to my original routing for now and wait for a change. Thanks.

Before I email Hyatt to ask, does anyone have the email address for the GM at the PH BsAs? His name is Philippe Frey.

Ola!

I am looking for a (if any) best value flight to South America. So for example, going to Thailand I booked the Cathay Pacific 1st class for 67.5k miles each way with AA landing in Bangkok, I am wondering if there is any such valuable flights I should look into going to the SA region.

I plan to travel for up to 5 months and can land pretty much anywhere.

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you.

Best flight to SA is probably Korean from LAX to GRU.

Apologies, I always manage to leave out one crucial piece of the puzzle. I am leaving from NYC ,or (closest) best alternative.

From JFK best should be 777-300 to GRU. Or LAN's 787 new biz class.

Would anyone be able to give me an estimate of how much they spent in BsAs, and how long you were there for? Since ATMs are not an option, I need to make sure I bring enough cash to exchange on the blue market. I'm hesitant about traveling with a lot of cash, but I don't want to have less than needed and then I'll be stuck with the official exchange rate from ATMs.

We will be there Thursday morning to Tuesday morning.

Are you going to pay for the hotel in Pesos?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I changed $600 into ARS 6000 when the official rate was 5 something. I used it all in BsAs and Iguazu, paying for hotels in cash in both cities.

Only the last night- Sheraton Libertador BRG for $100.

That covered your restaurants too? The tentative plan is to eat at Asian most nights. And we have to factor in Shabbat takeout.

That included everything. We only ate at Asian once, Al Galope once, Freddo and Persicco a bunch of times, taxis, and hotels for shabbos (in Once) and the Sheraton Iguazu C part of C+P. We were in Argentina a total of 5-6 days.

Got it. Blue market rate is 12.95 now, so I'm thinking about bringing around $600-700. Thanks!
