It's low if you want to buy anything.
And there's lots of good stuff to buy on the cheap.

What do you suggest, $800? Or more?

Really depends on how you order at Asian and what you want to buy.

Lots of clothing and art bargains due to blue dollar rate.

Correct.  We didn't do much souvenir shopping, although we did do a bike tour, and we were a couple hundred ARS short at the end. I'd bring closer to $800. Worst cast is you change it is stages and bring back the left over USD.

Yup, I'd say $1,000 is the least that makes sense if you want to buy any bargain clothes, art, or souvenirs.
You'll definitely regret being there and not being able to get a bargain due to lack of dollars.  And there are lots of amazing bargains.

I think at this point I'll bring 1000-1200. I don't want to run out of money towards the end. Thanks for all the input!

Main thing is not to trade too much or too little.  Can be a tough game to play, but I guess it's better to have changed too little.
Most people, even at a flea market, will give near blue dollar rates for your dollars.

But you'll never be able to trade pesos back for dollars (except to other Americans going to Argentina)

I'm thinking trade $200 USD at a time, and maybe $100 at a time towards the end?

I'd definitely trade $500-$600 at once. You'll use that easily.

At 8pm when they open, no; they'll just laugh at you. After p:00/9:30, definitely.

Thanks. I know reservations are recommended for Luba, even for lunch. Any other necessary reservations?

Not really. We went to Luba for lunch without a reservation, but they were all booked except for one 2-top. We were very lucky.

Any thoughts on fine jewelry pricing in BsAs when factoring in the blue market exchange rate? I'm thinking about buying something for my wife while there.

Or am I better off making these purchases at home?

Personally, I didn't think there were that many bargains to be had on luxury items, with the exception of leather goods.

Leather goods, artwork, and clothing can all be bargains.
Not luxury, but tichels that are 15 NIS in TLV and $15 in the US go for just 15 ARS in EZE.

We couldn't find any of those.  :(  Maybe it's because we were looking on Sunday morning at 9:30am and most of the stores were closed? The Judaica store had lots of them, but for a lot more expensive.

I highly doubt they're open at all on Sunday.

They also weren't open Thursday late afternoon/night. Oh well. Maybe next time.
