Long overdue TR from Buenos Aires, Iguazu, and Rio (will post in Brazil thread). To save time, I'll try posting pictures with captions.
Most pictures were taken on a Sony A3000, sorry for a few poor quality iPhone pictures.
Paid 100k per person in J on AA. Final routing ended up being LAX-DFW-EZE, GIG-JFK,LGA-BOS-LAX. (Best I could get).
AEP-IGR and IGU-GIG were separate booking with Avios and SkyPesos.
Got rerouted to DFW-EZE on the new 787 on AA. When we flew, the plane had only been flying that route about a week, and there were still some glitches with the plane. The partition in between middle seats was unmovable. Couples would probably be more comfortable with A/D or H/L to see each other better
Borenstein dinner that they've been using for years:
One of the mains was passable, the other looked like cat food, despite being the same meal.
Breakfast:
PH BsAs- used free night certs, and we were "upgraded" to a Park Deluxe King:
Courtyard facing new building:
The palace:
Recoleta area- down the street from Luba:
Luba dairy restaurant:
Delicious Alfajores drink:
Gnocchi and Portabella wrap- maybe it was bad luck but both were utterly lacking flavor:
Once:
Really good pizza from new pizza/dairy place Delicias on Tucuman
Puerto Madero:
Al Galope Steakhouse- the place was falling apart (no working water for Netilat Yadayim, puddles of water on the floor, disinterested service) but the food was cheap and GOOD. Probably one of the better meals.
Good french fries- they serve it with mayo here- no ketchup available!
Persicco gelato- I liked Freddo better!
Kokush bakery (aka breakfast every morning)
Kosher McDonalds: loong line, food was meh, but was still a fun experience!
Asian: Great value for the money, but as others have said, it has gone downhill.
Complimentary shots, breadsticks, and 2 mayo-based dips (all great):
Chicken Caesar salad (chicken was very roughly cut with lots of fat):
Asian beef wrap (great):
Mushroom steak with Papas Rotas (steak was average, good papas rotas, good salsa):
Passion fruit tart with vanilla ice cream (great):
Next time at Asian:
Thai Peanut Salad (unremarkable):
Meat Spring Rolls (very good):
Beef Ribs (very good):
Hot Pastrami (not at all my taste):
Ajim Restaurant on Tucuman- meat, shawarma/schnitzel. We went on our last night, and wish we had gone earlier. Good food, good prices. We ended up taking some to go for Iguazu:
Will post Iguazu and Rio later!
