I always find it humorous when gentiles carry on about how much food they ate on Thanksgiving.  We do that once a week, minimum!
If you don't care why would you comment?

If you really want to know about eating food you will need to marry a nice Italian girl.  :P
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Wow i can't believe i'm actually agreeing with Ergel.

An obsession with food is actually contrary to religion.
I agree with cv. I think that many people use God as an excuse to be obsessed with food. I don't think this obsession has anything to do with religiosity. It may have been spawned by religion but I don't think it has anything to do with God at this point (cue up all the Chabad people to argue). In it's current state it has a lot more too do with one's boich than God
+1
It is probably more a Chassidic thing, and ironically, throughout the generations Chabad was the Chassidic philosophy that stood out, in actually not putting an emphasis on food and such (in avodas Hashem), even de-emphasizing it.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

No ones arguing with that in this thread.

I and others were talking about how it was spawned. That was CV's question. And I think we are in agreement on that.
