Probably out of date, but should give better advice than just searching JFK to HNL!

i went to Italy in August of 08, and was one of my best trips

as far as airports, we flew into rome, took a train to Naples, flew Naples to Venice, train to Florence, Flew back from florence

Thanks for the info. I could not find saver reward tickets back to BOS/JFK from Rome, Venice or Florence for 4 people before August 25.  It seems there are enough saver reward tickets to go to Italy, but not way back.

Make the trip a couple days longer and take a train to Zurich, do Lucerene and fly back from there?

I have been searching Europe to the East coast for the past few weeks. I have not found availability from any city that I can think of. I called CS and they could not find a single city that had availability. This was on United and AA.
