He is not frum. I don't think it is l"h because it is public.

He defends all sorts of people. Sometimes because he likes their cause (yiddin), sometimes because he likes their money or publicity (OJ), sometimes to make a point (pornography), sometimes because he's friends with them and had no idea they were bombing buildings (JDL).

I'm not his biggest fan, but nor yet his biggest critic. He gave me a bad grade and I will forever resent him for it, but some people oddly resent him more for getting OJ off.

I'm not aware he was involved in DSK. Ben Brafman did that.
Isn't grading anonymous? Does he know your name if he sees you on the street?

Grading is anonymous (well, they grade the exams anonymous, but then have discretion to add points to people for class participation or whatever, if they've said they were going to). So what? I can't be mad at him just because it's anonymous?

My guess is he wouldn't know my name by face. But would recognize face. And would maybe recognize if I sent him an email.

I would just assume if it is anonymous it has to do the the taker more than the grader, but I could be wrong. From the books I'm reading it seems like the professors are out to get you anyway.

Oh, I don't think he was out to get me. I'm just annoyed that he taught nothing the whole semester, and then gave us a basic question and an 800 word limit, and then graded that on a curve.

The question was: what's the difference in the ethical obligation of a prosecutor and defense attorney. I've already posted the answer above.

Do defense lawyers knowingly conceal the truth of their defendants?

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Often they are obligated to by law of attorney client privilege.

He promises to defend us if we get in trouble for ethics violations within 5 years of taking the class. He says his class has a 5 year warranty.
