We did the hike and no one in our group had issues with altitude sickness. We did leave our toddler with a sitter just to be safe. We booked through chabad and it was an amazing experience, definitely worth it

I was just there (didn't do the hike, I did it a couple of years ago) and I felt so bad for everyone who did the hike but didn't see anything.
Seems like it has not been active. I did see some smoke coming out, but nothing more.

When we went it erupted once at 4 am and we were all sleeping. Def disappointing but still a fun experience
