Monday, visitor center, fountain paint pot trail, firehole lake dr, gps, old faithful, stay fishing bridge. Tuesday, Hayden Valley, lower falls, artist point, Northrim canyon drive, sleep fishing bridge.

Working on a tentative Yellowstone & Grand Teton trip end of August. With DW & children ages 8,6,4 & 1. I have a flight into Bozeman on Sunday 8/25 & deciding if I should fly out Friday 8/30 or stick around either Bozeman or Jackson for Shabbos & leave on Sunday. Looking for ideas where to stay for shabbos but don’t want to be stuck in a hotel or airbnb with the baby the entire shabbos. Assuming there’s no Eruv anywhere in the area wondering if anybody would know somebody interested in hosting us or have any other ideas where to spend shabbos.

We did Sun-Thurs. Was enough time for the highlights of both parks.
This is Montana and Wyoming we're talking about. You're expecting to find Shabbos hosts and an eruv?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Contact Chabad Shliach in Jackson, Wyoming and ask him for ideas. He hosts people all the time..

Thanks was wondering if something like that would be an option, obviously hosting a random family of six is not necessarily on many ppls radar

No expectations - just thinking out loud.

Would you be able to share your final itinerary? I’m sure it would be helpful with planning.

Any discount codes for booking hotels (xanterra) in the park? Or any way to book on points - chase or amex?

Anybody have experience doing any of their tours or activities? Anything worth doing (with kids)?

Anyone have current info on Boiling River and Firehole River if they are open for swimming? NPS website says closed but last update was from March 2023

There's no plans for Boiling River to be accessible to visitors again. It washed out in the 2022 flood and as a result moved tens of feet, and is nowhere near the new park road.

Working on the exact details but looking for some input. Traveling with wife & 4 kids ages 1-8

Landing in Bozeman sun at 1:25pm.
Heading to Alpaca Farm
Mammoth hot springs
Heading to Old Faithful Inn

Mon -
Old Faithful
GPS & other things in that general area
Towards evening head to Hayden Valley
Stay in either Canyon Lodge or Lake Lodge

Tues -
Grand Canyon
Lake & other things in that general area
Head down to Jackson Hole to get an early night & wake up early next morning for  Schwabacer & a full day in GT

Is it worth changing hotels or just stay in one? Sounds like positioning can make a big difference in Yellowstone. Would you switch the days? Any other input?

When are you going? It's hard to find availability in the park lodges. Make sure to bring a crib or whatever you need for your kids to sleep in, as they don't have cots, cribs (or AC)

End of August. Every day availability goes in & out. I can’t decide if I should do 2 nights in Old Faithful or split it up.

Should I be worried they’ll give me problems with 4 kids in the room or no reason they should catch on?

Not sure I was there with only 1 kid. Which lodge in old faithful? I heard rates this year are ~$700 a night...
Personally, I would split it up, but I don't mind switching hotels often

A little over $500 in Old Faithful Inn for a double queen.

Can get a triple queen for $277 but communal bathrooms & showers… gotta figure out a convincing argument to get my wife on board

Lol. Try to get a room on the old faithful side, I was able to see the geyser from my window. (You can't necessarily see it from all the rooms because there are a few trees blocking). Just so you know, the rooms are ok, but comparable to a days inn....you are paying for location. (Can't beat going out to see old faithful at 11 pm and coming back to relax in the lobby of the old faithful inn). I was at a 7 am eruption with probably 10 other people compared to during the day when you can barely get a seat.

Is it worth going to mammoth springs at 6pm or should we skip & try to add it to Mon if we can? We’d then either head straight down into Hayden valley on sun night & potentially stay in canyon or lake & reverse days or just head straight to old faithful sun night

Btw which room did u get? From what I understood the east wing of old faithful inn is the only lodging facing the geyser. Is that correct?
