But if you want to customize then you need Android.

An android is a phone the way you like it. An iPhone is a phone the way Steve Jobs liked it (though he was one heckuva tech genius).

For one, the apps all over the place on androids. There are many non-techie people that have no clue what apps they have.

Only on android can you do anything you want without any limitations, multitasking is just one of those things.

I do agree with that, the app organization isnt great, but its not really that hard to figure out. Other than that the basic functions on an android are just as simple as an iphone and if you mature as a techie even a little bit then the android becomes far more useful.
Personally, I am a blackberry guy but I will never understand the fascination with iphones.  In 2007 they were revolutionary.  Since then they havent done much.  I guess its all about marketing.

Reading this thread I dont think anyone wrote one thing an android does that an iPhone doesnt.  Now I know an iphone is simple and androids arent yadda yadda...but can someone please list 5-10 things you can do on an android that Steve did not think of putting on his phone? (besides swype, and besides that thing you think is really cool...for like 5 minutes...and to show your friends).

I have an iPhone but may consider an android because of battery life and would like to know the big hype on androids....
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

I'll start with removable battery, normal/standard charging port, and memory card slot. As far as apps go that's more complicated. No tethering apps, no side loading (CMIIW).

There are tethering apps. Don't forget widgets. I have a bunch of widgets that help me all the time. I don't need to open apps as much. Email and sms widgets are great.
Transfer music without iTunes locking you down.
Live wallpaper.
Battery and micro sd cards also a great point.

I personally prefer an Android for the following reasons:
1. Not having to use iTunes
2. Having a micro sd slot (not all androids)
3. Having a larger screen and more options for phones
4. Having widgets and a more customizable screen.
5. Having the option to choose a phone with a removable battery.

1. Download alternate keyboards. Lets say you like bigger or smaller keys, with ios you're stuck.
2. File system access. Sometimes people with iPhones ask me, for example, they want to know how to export voice notes, being an android user I didn't believe then that they can't just go to the file, and email or bluetooth it. On iOs you actually have to connect it to iTunes, and somehow find it there somewhere. This is IMO ridiculous.
3. NFC support. Not that it is such a great thing, it's just one example of how the ignorant apple gods decided that it doesn't fit the apple image, and even though there's a market for it, won't put it in. Same goes for the notification area up until iOS7.
4. Launchers. Changes you're whole home screen to whatever shortcut layout you want.
5. Alternate anything. The OS is open for tweaking, whether you want a different dialer app, contacts, text messaging, millions of people use apps other than the default apps for everyday tasks, things no one ever dreamed of before android times.

These are just a few from the top of my head, believe me, there are many more.

Not necessarily bad (I actually prefer the smaller screen) but the specs are a bit lower than the s4, that's all.

Again, I like the smaller screen and the specs would be good enough for me. But for the price you should be able to get more for your money IMO.
