I rarely go to gmail as I use my phone for most emailing but after seeing this I went to check it out. My first impression was to dislike it but after looking at it and thinking about it for a minute Ive changed my mind. I personally wont get a lot of use out of the change but I can see how many people would. Especially if you used filters and folders a lot in the past.

at first i didnt either like it but then after a little bit i realized that all the promotion emails go into one place which in a way is great this way i can check them when i want!

Didn't like at at first, but after a month, I'm used to it, and think it has it's pros and cons

settings -> configure inbox -> uncheck all but primary

i dont like it
my ticket confirmations are in promotions

as a shlucha i really dislike it,
if people send me messages on facebook (and i to them) it goes to social which i dont check when I am glancing at my email
also correspondence i have with other organizations are going to promotions

You can move messages over from one category to the next. I'm sure it has the ability to learn what to do the next time you get a similar email.
