One of the attendees approached us and asked us what we were looking for. Upon hearing our request, the attendee immediately told us they would send up some fruit, which arrived within 3 minutes of us getting to our room(and there was no room charge). Location- not the greatest in DC in terms of centrality, but only a 8-10 min walk to Kesher Israel, or Chabad of GW(seasonal), and just a few more mins to chabad in dupont circle. The metro stop in foggy bottom is a 7 min walk as well.
Activities- Newseum, Holocaust mueseum, capital, Air and space, tidal basin paddleboats(near the jefferson memorial) and general sightseeing.

I will be in DC for one night, and most of the next day on business. I have dinner, breakfast/brunch/lunch probably at around 12:00, and maybe grab a sandwich before my train back.

I am staying really close to Eli's and Distrikt Bistro. After reading all the responses here, I see that Eli's is much better then Distrikt Bistro. My question is, the breakfast/brunch/lunch meal will have to be at Eli's as Distrikt Bistro doesn't really have any menu items that I would eat as my first meal of the day. So, should I try Distrikt Bistro for dinner the night before? Or am I really better off going with Eli's twice (potentially 3 times, if I grab a sandwich before my train back)?

Try calling up the Chabad or the shul in Georgetown. Maybe they can help out. The PH is only a 15 min (or less) walk to the Georgetown shul.

For us, it looked too much of an hassle, so we figured the cab to be the easiest way.

And we only had one carry-on.

If you drive be extra carefull, a couple weeks after my vacation in dc I got a ticket in the mail, a speed camera caught me going 38 in a 35 zone at 1 in the morning. I've never even heard of a speed camera before. No points but an expensive ticket

agreed, there was also very bad traffic almost any time of day
