There are no milchig rest in DC. Go to Siena's or Nut House Pizza in Silver Spring.

Nut House>Seina's IMO

The nicest milching restaurant is The Pastry Oven. It is cafe style during the day and a restaurant at night.
There is also a Goldbergs Bagels.

I vote for Nut House also. Nice to hear abt Pastry Oven. I have been to Silver Spring a hundred times and for some reson never went there.

Spending the week in Alexandria,VA, right across the river from DC. Is there anything kosher there or do I have to go into DC to get fresh kosher food?

Drive or take the Washington Metro (train) to Rockville,MD or Silver Spring,MD, Ton of Kosher places there and you can stock up for the week.

We also stayed in Alexandria, VA in July for a free 3 night 'time-share' stay.
There was great biking along the river into Washington DC and good restaurants, too.

The Distrikt was still in the JCC in Downtown Wash DC. Can get there by subway.
It says here as of Feb 2014, that they are only open for Dinner M-Th. Link: http://www.distriktbistro.com/
Sundays from 11 am. Very good food.

There's also an Eli's in Washington DC that I've heard is good. It says here that they'll be moving soon: http://www.elisdc.com/

Max's is pretty good. If you have a car, you may prefer Baltimore. However, depending on traffic, it could be an hour each away to/from VA.

Silver Spring/Rockville has great restaurants, no need to go an extra 45 min to Baltimore unless you want to tour there. Also the Capitol K in Washington is an Excellent Hashgacha!

Thanks all. Problem is that I am here for business and will be busy all day and night. No time to go to DC. To make things worse (or better!!) they are expecting 12" of snow tomorrow.

the good thing is that the subways work when it's snowing. And, there seems to be less snow overall than they've forecasted. Good luck with work.

There's both a Sharaton and a Westin right near BWI (airport).

Yes, Nut House Pizza for Dairy and Max's for meat both in Wheaton (Silver Spring)
