I think it closed.  Was great though.

I plan staying at the Park Hyatt in D.C. I"H . As a diamond member they offered to order a kosher breakfast from a restaurant.

(Incidentally they also offered to order dinner from the restaurant just in case I wanted the room service  8) )

The manager suggested Eli's for breakfast but Eli's is meat.

Anyone know of a good dairy restaurant in D.C.?

Thanks!

Not sure there is one in DC itself. But salami and eggs is probably a pretty nice breakfast to have for free  8). Or just get something that's pareve, like pancakes or french toast.

I guess you are right but I believe they only open at 11 :P

In any case would you recommend Eli's over Distrkt Bistro? I might as well go for the nicer place if PH is sponsoring!  ;)

Never been to Distrikt Bistro - heard mixed reviews about it, but couldn't tell you first hand. Also, I'm not sure if they have breakfast, but I know Eli's does (at least when I was there they did)

Thanks! I don't much care about the ambiance since I will be getting it delivered to the room.

On another note, when booking the room the Hyatt Diamond line rep informed me that when I use my Chase Hyatt free nights, the hotel is obligated upon check-in to provide diamond members with the best suite available even the ambassador or Presidential suites.   :o

I find this pretty hard to believe; Dan have you or any of you diamond members ever experienced treatment like that??

Did I only write about ambiance??

And that's definitely not true.

No, I was just factoring it out.

And that's definitely not true.

I found it hard to believe but he was very insistent.

Are you sure you read through the thread?

...
The Museum of American History is really great, but they're slowly closing down everything in the west wing of the museum (basically a little less than half of the exhibits) for renovations. The Capitol tour is really good, but you can't bring any food or drink into the building and they're very strict. The Crime Museum is excellent too, but at full price it's $20 for a few hours worth of museum, max. Also, if you are taking a car, the Air and Space Museum's 2nd location (the original is on the National Mall) near the airport is absolutely fantastic, and well worth the $15 they charge for parking (the museum is free).
We saw the Air and Space Museum, International Spy Musuem, Smithsonian American Art, Capitol, SCOTUS, walked around a bit. Now heading to Pentagon, WH, Holocaust museum. Can't do Library of congress as some of us didn't bring their ID's and don't speak English. Are we missing anything?
...
Activities- Newseum, Holocaust mueseum, capital, Air and space, tidal basin paddleboats(near the jefferson memorial) and general sightseeing.

That's 12 activities beside the 3 you mentioned.

Why are you going to DC?

+1. If you're looking for action, you're visiting the wrong town. DC is about seeing the seat of our government, as well as history and art.
