Save Amex Membership Rewards

Hi,

I have the AMEX Bus Gold card.  How can I save the membership rewards so I don't lose them when I close the card?  Is there another Amex card to transfer them to?

New thread unnecessary. If you have the AMEX Blue you can keep the points there but you will not be able to transfer them to airlines until you open up another green/gold/plat.
