I did a 2bm, 1st the Visa and 1 second later the Amex, I got approved instantly for the Amex, the Visa said I'll get a decision in a week.
1. Does getting a decision in a week normally mean bad news?
2. What should I tell recon, why do i need Visa if I have Amex, and if I say lots of places don't take amex won't they say, why did you apply for amex in the 1st place?

Not necessarily so. I got one instant approval and one said they will notify me  at the end the declined it. They said that  they issued me the max amount of credit and  refused to take credit from another account .

I just got the Amex and Visa. I did not put my AA FFN# on the app. Can I call in on both cards and give the same AA # for both? Or should I use 2 different accounts.

2 questions with regards to AA churning
1) I am under the assumption that AA business and personal cards are unrelated in terms of 1st time cardholder. (Like if I apply for the business card now, I can try applying for the personal AA cards in 4 months without worrying about being a first time cardholder?)
2) If I apply and am rejected for not being a 1st time cardholder, does it result in a credit pull? Or if they see you were once a customer they don't even bother pulling? I am asking because my last AA card was 14 months ago and I want to know how risky it is for me to apply now vs waiting 18 months
TIA

I see credit pull on my credit report when i was rejected for not being a 1st time cardholer.

You should be fine. Just present the AA card at check-in to the agent.

If the older cards are "Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage®" cards, I don't see why not.

If i buy $50 AA gift card, i will get $150 statement credit. Is that true? Thanks!
Is this true for both Citi AA cards? Is it linked to a specific signup offer?

The statement credit is linked to the signup offer. Reportedly the full $150 statement credit posts with just a $50 purchase, AFAIK this is for all cards with the $150 offer.
