Well done. Was gonna apply for my wife with no prior citi history but u have me a bit worried. Ur credit and income were clearly good enough for the one instant approval, plus u never had citi before.

I applied for the aa visa + aa amex. got instantly approved for the visa and system declined the amex since" its only for first timers"

Did you get instant denial or did you call to inquire about the Amex?

does the aa work around still work ? can soomeone post a link to it can't seem to find the post/

I called and the rep said system had it already declined and a letter was already sent out

I hope its not the case by me. Just got the Visa approval letter for my 2bm last week. Now waiting on either a decline or approval on the Amex...

Did they give you the reason for decline?

yes the amex /visa is only for first timeers so as soon as i was approved for one, they declined the other considering that im "already a member"

I never read this thread before, but figure it's worth mentioning. When I fly out of LGA I go in the premier security line by showing my AA Visa cc where it says Platinum Level. It has always worked for me.
