Update:  I applied for the Citi AA Visa and Amex 75k offer.  I was denied for both.  I called and got approved for both on recon.  But they gave me $1000 and $2000 credit limit respectively.  Oh man....  Ill have to spend and pay, spend and pay, spend and pay til I get the points. 

What a pain...

What'd you say to recon to get them approved? They kept saying they couldn't help me.

First CSR told me nothing she could do, blah blah blah.  Asked for supervisor.  Nice lady got on and she did the approval.  They just needed to go over my credit report with me and had to explain a few things for them.  Once all was cleared up they did the approval.

(I just realized the advantage of replying to multiple people on one reply  . Next time)
