when it comes to churning this card do you have to close the first one to apply after 18 months. i need the credit line for my credit score so dont want to cancel so was thinking of converting to fee free card so citi doesnt think i have an AA card when i reapply?

anybody in same situation? we all have ours from last yr so coming up on when we can reapply

my wife had a old aa visa that was lowered to fee free and she got approved for the amex but not the visa

I don't know how Citi's system works, but I imagine it depends more on if the agent notices and whether they feel like making an issue of it (i.e. it's not automated), hence the YMMV.

i agree but im curious on some first hand experience

Got approved with 3 browsers for the 75k visa $1500
75k Amex $4000
75k business $1500,
Got only 1 instant approval, pulled the appid from the page source,
Called 18666062961 got the other two approved.
I previously applied for the 3 cards on 2/28 and converted them all to different cards, the personnel cards only converted after 45 days.
