The ideas mentioned were
A) paying taxes on an award ticket - confirmed that it works
B) buying luggage tags. - ctiw
C) buying snacks/drinks  in flight.
D) buying a gc ($50 minimum ) - ctiw
E) buying points was mentioned today

IIRC, buying miles require a min of 5,000.
Not sure, how about sharing miles?

So how would that come out worth it?  So far its the most expensive option.

And the top question is whether all these mile buy/share options are considered AA purchases or points.com purchases.

Okay, I've done all the calculations.
The cheapest option (taking into consideration the current 25% BuyMiles offer) would be the luggage tags. (unless you actually fly AA and use them for in-flight purchases or for the fees on a award)
