Perhaps you saw her clean credit record as a fertile (no pun intended) test-bed for credit card applications.

I bet she has more active cards than I do by now.

So I tried doing two personals for my wife, the AMEX was approved instantly (interesting because I wouldn't have applied for it being that she couldn't get the *w recently) the visa was being processed. I just received an email stating: "Here's what you should know The application was processed by a credit scoring system that assigned a numerical value to various items on your application and your credit bureau report. The information did not score a sufficient number of points for approval. " Which I find surprising because Amex was the only one she didn't get approved for in the past!

i had the same thing. declined for the visa for the same reason but then tried the amex and got instant approval. its weird cuz they told me that since this is a high tier card and has strict requirements the neg's in my credit report (recently opened cards with not much history on them) had me declined- yet i got approved for the amex a day later.... but i have always have good experience when applying for an amex.

You can't compare a *W to a Citi Amex. The *W is actually issued by Amex, they assume the credit risk, (in my experience) they typically have more rigorous criteria compared to Citi. The Citi AA Amex card processes on Amex's payment processing network, but is issued by Citi.

i was denied the visa business because i "submitted multiple applications" -i had previously been approved for both personals -
i was under the impression that personal doesn't affect business.
any insight?

Specifically in this case it seems like sometimes it does.

any insight?

You might want to try and write citi a letter, especially if you spend a lot on your other Citi cards.

this issue may have been covered before but i just wanna make sure. my brother and his wife signed up for 2 personals - one for each of them.  he accidentally put in one aa number on both applications. is this ok? can bonus miles from 2 different credit cards under 2 different names post to one aa account?

If he was approved for both cards and he spends the minimum amount he will probably get the miles for both cards.

being that im getting mixed answers on the certainty of this working. i think i'm gonna have him call up and tell them it was an honest mistake and change the aa number. its not worth risking his ticket to israel. :-)

Did anyone have this?

is it "wrong" to try to get the card another time since the offer is for "first time applicants"??

Maybe s/he should try applying, who knows, maybe s/he'll get approved.

By the time s/he is 18 s/he will have a 15 year old credit record.
