I'm really tempted to sign up for this offer. The only thing that's holding me back, is that im still sitting with my BA miles.

"And" why would you put down a fictitious amount? ??? ???

If you are still single and live with your parents (which i gather you are) and still a dependent, you are allowed to include your parents income in your "household income." Perhaps that would help.

I cant remember the last time I actually put down the true #s, I make mine up all the time. That said if a person is young say <30 and put down a high # then I can see where it will raise a Red Flag although plenty of under 30s make in the 6 & 7 figures, the Banks just want to make sure its the case. Under 25 is worse yet.

1 way around it is if you have  5 figures sitting in various accts with the Bank, if they pull your SS# then they will see what you have sitting with them and will more likely not bother a person about sending in additional info to them. Id say North of at least 25k

I have always put down my exact income and my credit limits are just fine. (Except for my last card where they said i have too much credit out there) When i was single, i put down my household income including my parents income. Perhaps that changed with all the new credit card rules. The CSR used to always say that you should include your parents income when giving household income...

i just applied for the amex plat and it said "under 21 include your salary and other income" which sounds like they dont want you to include your household income even if you are a dependent

Citibank: Total Annual Household Income.
Alimony, child support or separate maintenance income need not be revealed if you do not wish it to be considered as a basis for repaying this obligation.  Applicants under 21, please provide personal annual income.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

It must be something to do with the new credit card guidelines. It makes sense that one should not be able to include their parents income. Yet, years ago when i was in that situation they always told me i could/should.
