There was a comment on the main site of someone who applied and called up and they confirmed the promo they applied under.

Often you can get better value with cashback. Boils down to which casback card you'd have and where you are planning to use it.

Those who like to maximize their cashback usually have several cards and choose the best card for each purchase.

i applied today. after the application was submitted, they initiated a live chat to see if they could approve me on the spot. although they couldn't (i.e. i'll probably be declined), i was able to get in writing that i'm enrolled in the 75k promotion:

"you: also, can you see on the application whether i enrolled under any promotion, specifically, one for AA miles?

Beverly: You will earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $1500 with in 6 months."

Funny how so may people keep asking and doubting (not you per se) even though I've done this countless times over the past 5 years and have stated my opinion too many times to count.

Dan, I didn't mean that I needed proof that when u said its active, it's active. I've been around for long enough to know better than that!
I meant that its nice that although the promotion officially ended a while ago, yet, its still active. that's it.
