Has anyone here tried putting in another family member's AAdvantage # and it did NOT credit to that account?

I saw a couple reports where it worked. DId anyone have it not work?
Those that had it work, do you live at the same address?
On a side note, a few family members just signed up for cards and used my AA#. wondering after how many CC's credit to my AA account would AA start to ask questions (or would they not even notice)
Can anyone with experience please weigh in on this topic. I was looking on some other forums and one person said that they heard of people having issues with citi.
Does anyone know anything about this?

By me it worked with same address but different last name.
YMMV.

Wait until you get the card then try to get the other one approved.
Maybe better to wait till he get the bonus itself?

hmm, this is same last name but different address...well i hope this works:)
Do you think AA would have a problem if they figured it out?
Maybe better to wait till he get the bonus itself?
I will likely do that...

i cancelled mine before i reapplied

I had two accounts, converted one to Hilton (I think, I don't plan on using it, but it has 14k CL), then applied. So I had an active personal acct. I got denied on all three apps. The reason I was denied on Biz was for multiple applications, so I called recon, and played stupid. Told him I kept applying for the biz and getting denied (which is true), so I was trying again. He approved me manually with 8k credit line.

Maybe better to wait till he get the bonus itself?

I don't think so for two reasons:
1. The reason I saw wait until you get the card is so they don't change your mind on the approval. Once they mail the card it's unlikely.
2. The new accounts department doesn't care much for promos, and if you get the card and spend the required amounts, you will get the miles (that's how it's been for everyone here and on FT).

I had an AA biz years ago, at least two or three years ago. It wasn't a 75k offer though.

I had two accounts, converted one to Hilton
When did you do that?
I've been trying for years and they always say that since the new CC regulations effective early 2009 they don't do conversions anymore.
I know that they could do it if they really want to...
Any tricks?

I would stay on the safer side personally.

I had to convert it to avoid the annual fee, especially since I wasn't using the card.

I would stay on the safer side personally.

But if you wait for the bonus to post, you might not be able to get the recent app approved and will have to:
1. Wait until 60 days from the app to reapply (90 days for Citi business apps)
2. Absorb another credit pull (and potentially risk denial based on additional pulls since the previous app)
3. Risk the 75k links expiring in the meantime.

So personally I'd only wait until I received the card, considering the risks.

I called and said I don't want to pay the annual fee, and therefore wish to convert to a fee free card. I was converted from an AA MC to a Hilton Visa. This was like a month ago.

Lucky you, I tried many times with no luck.
Always get the same response.
You went straight for the conversion or did you mention cancelling and then they gave you the option in order to keep you around?

I applied for the card visa 75k today, its pending decision I tried to speak to them on the phone to expedite it but they said its being processed and needs further review etc. Is that ok? How long did it take in any of your experiences?

How long ago?
Did it take a lot of effort or mentioning cancelling?
Why do I keep on getting the broken record about not being able to convert since the new CC regulations?
