If he hands it in, then it gets approved instantly. Hence the need for the application form itself. He also told me if I got him the offer code he would get them to apply it to the application...

I applied for the Amex 75K 3 weeks ago and was initially declined. After speaking multiple times to supervisors they finally agreed to 'resubmit' the application and hinted strongly it would be approved. I called back a week later to check on the status only to be informed it was 'voided' because the offer is no longer valid.

I had the Visa Business and closed it a couple of weeks ago. Just got approved for the 75K Visa Business - although I did use a legit business this time - last time was SP.

I used an EIN for the business but you need to provide you social when filling out the personal info.

Just not working. Supervisor is being hard-headed and insists she has to follow 'policy.' Only advice is to write to the office of the president.

Quick recap:
-Initially declined because of too many inquiries and and an old Citi account that was closed by the bank as delinquent. Was told by supervisors that they cannot look past this delinquent account but that they can reconsider based on the number of inquiries and suggested I speak with customer service to resolve this old account. After spending hours on the phone, they finally corrected the old account.

-I then spoke to a supervisor in new accounts who resubmitted the application.

-I called to check the status and it was 'voided' as the promo (amex 75k) no longer existed. The supervisor said I should reapply. I applied for the Visa 75k and was declined because of 'too many inquiries.'

-I called New Accounts and the supervisor just won't budge despite the usual spiel.

Any advice? Anyone have any luck with the President's Office?

I had a very weird situation last night....I went ahead and applied two family members for the visa and amex (4K spend) double browser. The first got instant approvals for both while the second "need review" "missing info" etc. Now everything was filled out correctly and citi even acknowledged that when i called. Any idea why this happened? Credit is impeccable for both applicants. Perhaps not clearing cookies? does that even make any sense?

Anyone have experience with convincing Citi that your business exist w/o having to send in bank documents (which I don't have...)? i called twice and they did not give in.

People I have a true story of Citibank incompetence. In short there was a card closed by the bank about 10 years ago due to inactivity, and that restriction hindered the instant approval of both apps. One was declined so they reprocessed, the other is nearing the final stages of processing. Obviously its all being done manually. Will let you know what happens.
