Any tips/workaround to get my drop-off location changed BEFORE I start my rental?

Official policy at the pickup location is that no one-way rentals are allowed. Avis CS told me that the workaround is to change the drop-off location once the car is already picked up, but a one-way fee will apply. My concern is that they cannot tell me how much that one-way fee will be, before I actually make the change. If it's $100/$200 I'm ok with it, if it's $1000 I'm not. Advice?

ime, u can play around with the drop off after pickup on the app and they will tell you how much it will cost before confirming a change

I'm not flexible on not changing the drop-off location once I already have the car, so at that point if the one way fee is $1k I'll be stuck paying it.

The location charged me $500+ for the one-way return, but Avis corporate refunded it to me (I had transcripts from cs that there will be no one-way fee).

I made an Avis reservation for JFK using the Chabad code. During the reservation, I selected the USA as my country of residence, but when doing the pre-check, I entered the details of my French driver’s license. I got the following message: 'There is a mismatch between the country of residence provided during reservation & issuing country of driver’s license provided in this form. Please update the country of residence in reservation before submitting this form.'

How did you get them to agree to no one way fee? I once paid $1k for one way fee and couldn't find a way to get out of it.

The rental was booked using a coupon that allows for one ways without extra fees. When booking, that specific location didn't allow one way rentals. Avis cs workaround for this was for me to book a same return rental, and then change the return location after pickup. When I mentioned my concern about the one way fee, they told me they'll waive it on their end.

i've got a $260 rental in miami coming up and a $75 off 350 deal on amex plat. if i charge sunpass/tolls and dont refill gas will all those charges be part of the same Avis charge or do they charge them separately?
