Interesting... So it all depends on when you sign up for the card? Like, now's a good time but if you signed up in January, then you would not get the second $300 until next Jan.

well you need to be able to take card of the statement credit which chase is a little harder, but sure

well this is not the ethics thread but if you can technically lie, you need to call Chase as opposed to AMEX (at least until recently) and tell them what the charge is for. Soooo if its not an seat upgrade/luggage or wtvr and your saying it is you need to lie..

Delta won't work since it disappears too quickly. A refundable jet blue upgrade should be fine. There is no need to lie when you call just say it's an upgrade.
