planning on staying in the Ritz mid Jan with wife and 2 kids (oldest 2.5). i have gold status and I have 2 night certificate. will they make me book 2 different rooms? or can I ask for an upgrade and fit all 4 of us in one room for 2 nights?

I am in the exact same situation as you, same age kids, I booked one room and have been emailing back-and-forth with the concierge asking for an upgrade you to a special occasion etc. at some point I mentioned both kids and they said they would put us in a bigger room that would fit all four. But I am pretty sure I will end up in a suite as Hilton just did this past Shabbos in the Waldorf for us

That's true as well as some other high level employees moved from waj to the ritz

As I was checking out of the WAJ today I mentioned to the GM who I was shmoozing with, that I am going for the rest of the week to the Ritz.. he was like i am very friendly with him so I’ll call and make sure they take care of you..  :P

Are there any activities to do in Herzliya besides for relaxing at the beach? Worth staying for two nights? Also, are there any Eidah Chareidis or Rubin restaurants in the area?
there is speed boating etc but not much but it is in the center not far from other places by car

Speak to the mashgiach. All the breakfast food was mehadrin, except the jelly.
Meats were mehadrin as well, although the sauces weren't

Meats are beit Yosef and not mehadrin and don't think the chicken is any better. if request in advance they usually have  meat from harav machpud which is a much better hechsher.
But it's wtvr u r comfortable eating and your LoR says is acceptable

Mashgiach told me the were. Maybe was a miscommunication. Didn't eat meat either way

I spoke with the mashgiach last night and he told me that the meat is not Glatt..
seemed like an honest guy.. can’t imagine him saying different things.

Anyone know a caterer for Shabbos food?

I get from Rivkin in Kfar Chabad. I believe there are also a few places in Bnei Brak.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

This post should be moved to the Kashrus/Hechsherim master thread. Seems to be proving a point I've been saying for a while, that the word Badatz or Mehadrin is at best MEANINGLESS, and possibly even a reason to avoid!

first of all you can pre-order glatt, and you can always eat chicken

Thanks for the info, I think I’ll do this even though I was so looking forward to eating at the hotel.
