Is it just the time of year I was there or is the Ritz always this embarrassing when it comes to their food selection?!?!? They charge over 150 Sheq Per Person for one person making eggs for a FULL hotel. One lady making tiny pancakes. The buffet is tiny compared to other hotels. It was legit embarrassing.

What was there to love? There was barely any choices of breads. One guy making eggs for 300 people. One lady making tiny pancakes for 150 little kids all wanting to eat at the same time. There was a platter of lox a small platter of cheeses. A tuna salad, some cut vegis and that is it. It was all in one small back room of the dining room. This was literally a quarter the size of any of the Dan/Herod/Sheba hotels I have been to here.

They charge the same price for Shabbos and no one is making eggs

Sounds very different than when we were there in June. Guess that's the price you pay to travel in August in Israel.

Was there more then one back room with food?

No question that this is high season (They had set up tables in the lobby to accommodate the overflow) but its inexcusable to charge twice as much for the same breakfast that costs 60-65 at Gregg Cafe.

There's 25% off for Marriott members and kids eat free. Comes out to less than Cafe Cafe.
Never had to wait for eggs or pancakes.

Not sure, but we didn't pay for 1, 5, and 7 in June.

I went last year in Aug and had zero complaints about breakfast
plenty of food ...no lines
and they only charge for adults and give 25% discount

Oh my you are so right! was at both this week as well.
one night ritz and two nights setai.
The setais only saving grace was that we had the semi-private pool and no one was around most of the day so it was basically private. but i doubt ill ever go back.
