Basically, we booked through Amex FHR to take advantage of the 200$ credit + early checkin + late checkout + breakfast for 2 + 100$ activity credit, got upgraded from base room to Deluxe with Marine View (highest room before suite), recognition of our anniversary (for real! Champaign, balloons and some dried fruit ). Beautiful weather, excellent food, the hotel is amazing, service was very good (except for a bad experience with the room service). Definitely recommend.

Hopefully I'll have enough energy to write it up again for my records, and then I'll post it here along with a couple of pics.

I agree with this, the amex fhr is a really good value although not free.

We found a rate of $420 through amex, so it's $220.
You get 4 pm guaranteed checkout, so that makes a one night stay feel much longer.
Two breakfasts ( if you eat regular rabbanut) can be like brunch peg it at $20 each.
The $100 credit can be used on the spa or food.
The hotel is on par with any of the fancy hotels in jslem.

i'm here now, booked amex fhr double dip last year when i got $150 off on amex offers plus the $200 per room. they upgraded both of our reg rooms to exec suites on opposite sides, plus water/pellegrino, nuts, chocolate and a kosher wine (im just a gold). friends who booked points didnt get any real upgrade, clearly they give pref for upgrades to paying customers through amex.

Not sure if they have a minyan but there is some sort of Shuva outpost in the shopping center under the Sharon hotel, about 15 min walking.

Amex FHR gets the best upgrades at all hotels. Amex has the muscle and enforces. Large percentage of luxury hotel revenue comes from Amex
