No. There is a limit to the amount you can pig out and still have fun. The only excuse for planning such an unenjoyable trip is that he had no other choice.

I'm sure he could have gotten to SCL using a shorter routing had he so desired :)

FWIU, everything was fully booked 2 days before Christmas, so he needed the crazy booking just to get there.

Perhaps, but from the way he wrote it, it seems like he davka decided to do ATW just because.

I knew the first answer easy.. Quick search on seatguru for flight number and airline.
The dude sounds like he had some spare time and good skills of deduction. He came across exactly like sherlock Holmes..
