How to get bumped to ElAl Business

My wife and I are flying from Toronto to Tel Aviv direct for Rosh Hashana with Elal Economy.

Does anyone know how I can possibly get bumped to Business for free? I've heard of it happening before but never got a good explanation of how.

Every time I have flown El AL, it has always seemed to me that it was just a random selection. Unfortunately I have never been one of the lucky ones.

Im not familiar with elal but i did have once with swiss coming back from TLV to ZRH i had sprained my ankle in israel and by the check in counter i asked nicely if they could upgrade us, and the manager approved it for me and my wife.

A little OT but I recently flew Airtran on my honeymoon and asked if my wife and I could be bumped to business bec of we were on our honeymoon. They gave it to us and then we didn't even end up using it  , we bumped off the flight and got compd free RT tix to anywhere in the US.

If you don't have connections inside ELAL don't even waste your time on this. Next time fly with an airline that gives real millage you may be on to something.
