@elazarmn recommended and @drosenberg88429 answered my posted question. Are the two of you one and the same or you both know him/have used him?
We're two separate posters. I have no idea who the other poster is or how they know him. My family has been using him for 20 years, and I've brought multiple cars to him to check out. He's been around for a while, and is well known in the Brooklyn community, afaik. What i personally like about him is that he's a very straight talker, and he's very honest not only about whether something has an issue or not, but also whether it's worth fixing and how serious of an issue it really is. Meaning, not only is he not inventing issues, like some other mechanics are, or charging absurd prices to fix them - he's also transparent about an issue that does legitimately exist, but doesn't really have to be addressed or has a shortcut or temporary fix that makes sense given the larger picture of the car and its condition, even if a proper fix or opting to fix that minor issue would be a lot more profitable for him.
Whatever. I don't have to be giving him a sales pitch. I don't think he's canvassing for new customers (he's swamped as it is). He has a sterling reputation to the best of my knowledge, and doesn't really need salesmen. I also won't claim that he's the only mechanic I use or that I've found trustworthy. This was just a response to your request for information on which mechanic is capable and trustworthy.
