A while back Dan posted on the main site that AMEX is providing your FICO for free. Anyone other than me still not have that feature?

I don't have it. Neither does my wife.

A friend of mine does and he's only had an Amex card for a couple of months.

Ok. So I guess I'm not the only one. I chatted with AMEX about it, the guy said it was targeted, and didn't know anything about them continuing to roll it out. He sent me something about getting a free copy of your report and score, although I don't know what score that is, or if involves a pull. I know that when you request your own report from the bureaus, there's no pull but I don't know what its like if AMEX pulls it for you.

I understand, but isn't the objective that which can be derived from credit?
The number seems arbitrary as opposed to the contents of said credit file as a whole.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about the excitement of a greater number.

+1

Been saying that for years.

Number is largely meaningless unless taking out a large loan. And even then...

The number is what matters first not the credit file.

Number is only reflective of what's in the file.

It may be necessary, but it certainly is not sufficient.
