How long does a missed payment stay on/ affect your credit report?
7 years IINM. If it's the first one call the bank, they may take it off as a courtesy

it's on a closed account from 4.5 years ago. Any change they'll still take it off. Also, it only shows on experian report, on the trans Union report it says account always offered paid on time. Is that enough evidence to dispute?

Is it true that checking your credit score (I checked mine with the US airways card)lowers the score?

No
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Where did you see that? Checking it will result in a SOFT pull on your report, which, by definition, is only seen by you, not by lenders.

it's only 2% on up to $1000. but if you're getting discover IT it probably won't hurt to get both. Also there's a referal $50 signup bonus ;). PM me...
My Blue Cash preferred which has 6% up to $6 spend has 3% on gas unlimited, this would make Chrome useless for the 2% but a why not as an extra card if same pull as IT...

Don't get another account if it doesn't benefit you.
It will make it harder to get approved for cards you do want.

This is what benefits say...
6% Cash Back at US supermarkets, up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%);
3% Cash Back at US gas stations
3% Cash Back at select US department stores; and
1% Cash Back on other purchases.

Do you have reason to believe that it is not unlimited?

Good to know! I always assumed otherwise, not sure why. Thanks!

Another card would lower utilization, would add to # of accounts and in long run would make averages better. So it kind of depends on rest of credit report... Truth is by me it wouldn't be a pro or con to credit score, would be about even...

I mentioned a few days ago that if getting a discover card, also get Chrome (pgs 53-55 of this thread). However, it's definitely worse than Discover IT and is only worth getting in a 2BM. I was just on the phone with Discover and they told me that you can only open one Discover card a year ??? :-\ , so take it with a grain of salt. Either way, if you do plan to open either one I can give you a link that get's both of us $50. PM me.
Everything in this world is free. For the right price.
