So they have to be miles that are earned after signup? Let's say I have 30K now, would I get elite or would I have to earn another 30K from today?

It would seem so as long as you are flying within the dates of the promotion.

JFK to Lhr is 3440
Lhr to TLV is 2330

Does the LY flight qualify? I haven't read the t and cs.

bonus miles don't count towards elite status (usually and I doubt it will work this time)

LY flights depends what class it is

you get 100% for economy and 50% for discounted economy
