(I apologize in advance if this has been dealt with but i was unsuccessful in achieving that)

Is there any optimal use for Krisflyer miles for economy seats?
(I have only seen a lot written about higher class fares)

Same as with all other airlines: most of the time, it doesn't make sense to use it for economy seats, but there are some exceptions.

You gotta have to do the math for yourself: ticket price, minus value of earning elite miles vs. value of miles.
