How will Amex step up their game now?
There are plenty of Chase cards that offer these benefits. This isn't necessarily going to make Amex try harder. Meanwhile dealing with Amex is such a breeze they are still way ahead.
No need, there is no comparison.
Wrong Board.
I got an email today about all the new benefits available to my Chase Freedom card.Chase is now offering extended warranty, purchase protection, price protection, return protection, auto rental CDW, etc.https://www.chasebenefits.com/freedomVP1How will Amex step up their game now?
Freedom always had these benefits. They are not specific to Chase Freedom- all Visa Signature cards are entitled to them. Chase is just placing an emphasis on them now, so you'll think they're making up for the loss of the Freedom exclusives. They did a similar thing a few years back when they got rid of the awesome 5% back in top 3 spending categories. They hoped you wouldn't realize because they introduces the far inferior exclusives at the same time.
-1Freedom is not signature.

The only benefit Freedom (and most other Visa/MC) has that Amex doesn't, is Price Protection.
What about return protection? That's a major game changer for me- I use my amex most because of that feature... Although my closets are getting clogged up with shoes that I don't have to return
