Please help me find this song
« on: August 18, 2013, 07:17:18 AM »
I'm forever asking people and getting asked as well, for info on a certain elusive tune to specific words or the words to a specific tune. Or, as is currently the case, I know the words and the tune but cannot find the original recording (if one exists). I have not found a thread for this. People should feel free to add questions of their own, but currently the following question is driving me crazy. Here (
&feature=youtube_gdata_player ) is a clip of the song being sung in a group led by R' Baruch Chait. This is a famous, and hauntingly beautiful, song. However, no matter how many people I ask, no one seems to know who's song it is originally and where I can come by a recording of it.

I beseech the other members of this forum to help me and any other potential future petitioners.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I first heard this on Avraham Fried; Around the Year Vol 3; Golus Medley.
If you can find an album cover, you might find the answer.

+1. Dveykus 2, track 7 (pretty funny that the only place I could find it available for download with a streaming sample was Amazon - sign of the times). I can't guarantee you it's the original, but most of Abie Rotenberg's songs are in fact original (with a few notable exceptions).
