What miles mean the most to you
« on: August 18, 2013, 01:02:48 PM »
I'm  just getting started in the whole mileage game, so when it comes to transferring points to miles or applying for airline credit cards, which programs are worth the most in your opinion for flying domestic US (I hear good things about BA) and international.

I just applied for citi aadvantage card so I now have some AA miles-this is the only airline card I have...so far.

Depends where you want to go. I try to acquire ALL miles. For me personally I use United for international flights and Delta and British for Domestic. But that's just me.

AA. With United, you're a little limited. AA can now be accrued in the hundreds of thousands per year just from signup bonuses.

You say that like it's a sure thing it's going to last. I'd say it's only for the time being.

You can accrue more AA than UA? Isn't difficult to churn Citi's AA cards? Aren't Chase's UA + all the other UR more churnable?

Yes, in general. At the moment we're having some fun with Citi AA but I don't think it will last.

Can you explain exactly how you go about churning these cards and exactly which ones you do at the same time. I have one citi card for years and after applying for amex and chase this year i wanna start tapping the citi potential...TIA

If I understood correctly he was saying that UA  miles are limiting, and that AA is  easier  to churn. Although I love AA I don't see  how UA  is  more  limiting than AA considering how  many partners UA  has.

It depends on what you do with them.

I will leave it at that.

I wasn't saying that United is worth less. Only the ease of accruing AA this year. I'm up to 300,000 for myself and 110,000 for my wife.

AA wasn't born a month ago. I got 3 AA cards earlier in 2013.
