Sprint bet the bank, and it'll probably end up costing them everything. Even investors think so, their stock tanked today (down 10.2%).

Let's see for how long they're going to be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone 5....

That's what's worked for AT&T and it's the only thing that'll save Sprint IMHO.

I dont think that is the only thing they'll have. Cuz soon an iphone 6 will come out...
The reason its keeping AT&T cuz they were the 1st and only for years. Once verizon got it, deff harmed att

AT&T was exclusive for 5 years and IMHO that's a significant factor in getting them to where they are today. If Sprint had the iPhone 5 exclusively for even six months, I think it would do them a lot of good. Three months (of less) of exclusivity, not so much.

Another thing is, if there are supply constraints in the beginning, can't Sprint use that as an excuse for not fulfilling their commitment to Apple? (parenthetically, methinks the whole 'supply constraint' thing was artificially orchestrated by Apple to increase the hype (and keep their inventories lean)).

Acc. to BGR:

"I have been told that Sprint will be getting the iPhone 5 — yes the real iPhone 5, not the iPhone 4S — as an exclusive. And it will be a 4G WiMAX device. AT&T and Verizon would launch the iPhone 4S and get the iPhone 5 some time in the first quarter of next year as an LTE device"

Seems like about a 6 month exclusive.

AFAIK, Sprint has been good in this area. If past performance is any indicator...

I agree. People are still contracts (with $350 ETF ) from the VZW iPhone. I think they will wait till exclusivity ends till they buy it.
