Free night Hilton Certificates

I am familiar with how booking free nights works with the other brands because I have purchased the certificate several times i.e. being added to the reservation as a second guest. With Hilton, is it best to follow the same procedure or or to have the certificates transferred to me after purchasing?

Apologies for what may seem like a dumb question. 😬

YMMV. From my experience, I called the customer service and was able to book under guest name as primary DIRECTLY without my name appearing on the booking confirmation.

Do FNCs work at Conrad Maldives, when booked into someone else's name? As in, successfully able to utilize Diamond perks, no issues checking in without the actual owner of the cert?

 Generally no. Certificates booked into someone else's name with you as the additional guest only work in the United States. Perhaps some people who have had success may chime in but I think those successes are the exception rather than the rule. I am a big risk taker and that's not even something *I* would try.

Yeah I was just curious, I've always been able to book nights for my parents CONUS and OCONUS (granted, same last name, and I'd let hotel know about it), but I was wondering how it works for a complete stranger
