A BMG is typically used for a specific brand unless stated otherwise in the conditions. In terms of selling it… I don’t think there’s a difference.. it might be stricter in terms of the check-in process(?)

@S209 @HoKo: That’s good that it’s all brands - normally when it’s issued, it’s for the same exact brand, or in the same level of brand(s). I do believe it would be stricter when checking in, requiring to be the name on the cert, as BMGs are usually used to remediate issues during a stay. Plus, I’ve never seen someone sell their BMG cert.. unless I’m looking in the wrong places..

Just my two cents - I would not recommend selling a BMG Certificate for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, it is tied to a specific case number by Hilton Corporate for remediation of an issue (or set of issues) as a result of a hotel stay.  Secondly, the hotel will get charged a "processing fee" of $250 for just processing the certificate and then also will get charged the standard rate plus taxes (i.e. expensive rate) of the hotel that the certificate is eventually redeemed at. Third, the owner of the BMG also receives Hilton Honors points for the stay (which are also ultimately also billed to the hotel which caused the initial problem).

It's been very public that Hilton is very focused on weighing member compensation received vs. revenue spent on an account by account basis and redeeming a BMG can percolate you to the top of the list for someone to spot. 

Again, no ulterior motive here, just trying to protect fellow DDFers.
